Saying Goodbye to Robin Williams

Robin Williams ::: picture source

It doesn't feel right to publish the post I had planned for today.

Yesterday a great man died. I know there are many speculations on how and why he died, but to me, it doesn't matter. It won't bring him back, it won't take away the depression he was experiencing. My heart goes out to his family and friends during this painful time.

I think The President said it best:

Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien -- but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most -- from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets.

  2. I may not agree with the president on much but that quote there I can certainly agree with.

  3. He definitely will be missed and he was an excellent comedian and actor. So funny and true to himself. I for one loved the quote that the president gave about Robin but that's the only thing of his I've ever liked so mark that down in your little book. LMAO

  6. Thanks for posting this. Yesterday was a hard day in our household; he was my favorite actor when I was a kid, thanks largely to Mork & Mindy and Popeye; but as I got older I came to really enjoy his standup comedy, as well as his dramatic roles. He lived in my area, and while I was never fortunate to meet him many of my friends have a story that involves him, either a chance meeting somewhere or else something in a professional capacity. By all accounts he was a wonderful human being, which makes the fact that he was suffering so much more painful to those of us who enjoyed his work.
