Yes, I Knit and Crochet. No, I Am Not Old.

My Nanna (Great-Grandmother) taught me how to crochet when I was little. The most I ever did was make endless chains of yarn trailing throughout her house. I thought I was so cool too, knowing how to do things my friends didn't know. Both my Nanna and Grandmommy (Grandmother) used to crochet and knit afghans for friends and family. My mom can crochet a dish cloth, but that's as far as her knowledge goes. So, thanks to YouTube, I taught myself to knit and crochet more complicated stitches and patterns.

Since I have never been particularly wealthy, especially in the past few years, homemade gifts have been a sort of specialty for me. With inspirations and instructions from Pinterest (you can see my knitting and crochet board here), Scarves, hats, and other various items have ruled supreme at family holidays. I have to say I'm getting quite good at it, and have even created my own patterns.

My mom works part time in an antique store, cause she gets bored being all retired and stuff, and a few of the people that rent space in the store sell handmade items. So Mom has started to release her crafty side and make things to sell there as well. She's and excellent painter and has all sorts of Pinterest worthy ideas and projects up her sleeve. And after seeing my scarves and things she decided I needed to make a few and see if they would sell at the store. So I did. And they did!! I also got a bunch of yarn and a gift card to JoAnn's for Christmas so I could continue making the scarves and some to even make an afghan. I haven't started the afghan yet, but I as soon as I do, you best believe that I'll track my progress here :)
