Blogger Men Tell All - June

What is your favorite summer treat?
Hubs: I dunno. Probably smoothies.
Me: Why smoothies
Hubs: they are healthy and they are good. Lets you get your fruit servings in.
Me:You can also sneak in some veggies too.
Hubs: yep.

If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would you go and why?
Hubs: France.
Me: Why.
Hubs: I've always wanted to go to France, not sure why. I've heard good things about it and that they have good food.
Me: mm hmm
Hubs: Plus there's stuff like the Eiffel Tower.

Do you have a favorite song that says “summer” to you? What is it?
Hubs: What?..... no. Not that I recall.
We: So there's no song that you know that feels like a summer type song.
Hubs: Well you could throw the Hokey Pokey in there. Shake it all about. And whatever the rest of the words are.
Me: *after stiffling my laughter* Seriously, though. The Hokey Pokey?
Hubs: It's the only song I could think of right off.

What summer project are you hoping to accomplish before fall?
Hubs: Are you laughing cause you think I'm going to say the bathroom?
Me: hahahaha, yes!
Hubs: Well, yeah. That would be nice.
Me: We're about half-way there.

Me: Anything else you'd like add?
Hubs: Cleveland sucks!
Me: Huh
Hubs: The NBA finals. I think they're rigged.
Me: How so?
Hubs: It's just weird how all 6 games were blowouts. And game seven just happened to be close and they made about $13 million in revenue off that game. Just seems fishy to me.
Me: Oh.

He never disappoints with these. Ever.

Blogger Men Tell All - March

Conversations with Philip are one of the most viewed topics here. And this one will not disappoint. I sat down with him earlier this month for another round of Blogger Men Tell All,with Becca Dorr, and this is what transpired.

Popcorn lover’s day is March 10! What’s your favorite popcorn flavor?
Hubs: Cheese.
Me: What kind of cheese?
Hubs: What do you mean what kind of cheese? Like cheddar cheese! You know the big cans of the caramel, the butter, and the cheese popcorn. Those ones. mmmmmm
Me: There's white cheddar popcorn too, though.
Hubs: Meh, it's alright.

What is the farthest you’ve traveled?
Hubs: Like how many miles? or... what do you mean by how far you've traveled?
Me: Like the farthest away.
Hubs: Probably on or cruise when we went to Mexico and the Caribbean. Or even the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.
Me: I'm pretty sure Mexico is farthest away.

Have you ever dyed your hair? If not, what color would you dye it?
Hubs: Yes, I died it blond. It turned into piss blond and it looked disgusting on me.
Me: *laughing* So were one of those guys in middle school?
Hubs: Ugh. yes.

How are you doing on your New Year’s resolutions?
Hubs: I don't remember making any. So probably not good.
Me: *laughing* We didn't make any.
Hubs: I didn't think so.

That's my husband ladies (and gentlemen).

Did you participate this round?

I saw this little interview on Facebook one day and I just had to do it with Hubs. The directions were to catch him off guard with them, and that's just what I did.

(Cue the awwww-ing)

2. What makes your wife happy?

Umm. Bad news.
(... or a lack of chocolate in the house)

4. How does your wife make you laugh?

5. What was your wife like as a child?

Troublemaker from what I understand.

15.What makes you proud of your wife?

How much you try to please me.
(and even more awwww-ing)

16. If your wife were a character, who would she be?

(bahahaha. Probably yeah)

17. What do you and your wife do together?
Watch Big Bang Theory.
(sensing a theme here?)

18. How are you and your wife the same?

We're both pretty funny.
(toot, tooting our own little horns)

19. How are you and your wife different?

You are more social than I am.
(this is sometimes a source of tension, but I think we handle it pretty well)

20. How do you know your wife loves you?

Him: Because she tells me.
Me: Like other than me telling you.
Him: She does things she doesn't necessarily like or want to do to make me happy. Like cook.
(hahaha. I don't LIKE to cook and I tell him all the time that I only cook cause he likes me to)

21. What does your wife like most about you?
It's probably my money. Haha, no. It's probably cause I can always make her laugh. Or at least I hope so.

23. How old was your Wife when you were born?

Conversations

with Kaity

You guys remember by MO Bestie, Kaity? Of course you do, cause she's awesome! Well, I've got another hilarious conversation to share with you between her and I. This particular one happened during class one night (I know, I know, we should have been paying attention, but sometimes... you know. Bored). Kaity got a text, and it distracted me, but because we were in class I couldn't be nosy and ask her out loud who she was texting. So I texted her.

Me: Who are you sexting?

Kaity: My sister's boyfriend.

Me: Why are you sexting your sister's bf??

Kaity: Idk... just felt like it *winky face*

Me: Weirdo. Cradle Robber.

Kaity: We are actually talking about the packages that I sent him. And I ain't no cradle robber!!
(note: Kaity is really close with her sister and her bf, and often sends them little care packages)

Me: Ooohhh. Packages huh? Does Megan know he like "packages"?

Kaity turns so red and is trying not to laugh out loud once she read that last text.

Kaity: Oh yes, she knows all about that floozy belle!

Me: I'm not usually this funny with anyone else. Just you.

Me: You're Welcome.

It's the truth. Somehow I am on my comedic game when I'm with Kaity. I wish I could pull off that funny with other people, especially Hubs. He always has a witty comment about almost everything.

This month I've got THREE lovely co-hosts! Be sure to check them out, as well as the rest of the Conversations posts linked up with us this week.

Conversations with...

... Strangers in the checkout line.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know we did. One of the things I like about myself is my ability to start up a conversation with just about anyone. Hubs wanted this huge TV that was on sale (and I wanted some leggings), so we braved the Black Friday hoards to get it. We got the TV no problem, but the leggings did not come in my size and we ended up getting Bear another bed, a toy, a ginormous rawhide bone, and some bungee cords for Emmy (our truck).

It all started when I asked the older couple behind us in line about the bucket of bungee cords they found, because it was bigger than the one we had. Then we proceeded to chat and the closer we got the register the better it got. After some small talk about the lines and crowds, we moved on to pets, which turned into this:

Lady: Oh we just celebrated 50 years together on the 15th.

Man: *Beaming* Yep.

Me: Oh wow!! Congratulations!

Hubs: Don't see that much anymore. Congratulations.

Me: What's your secret?

Lady: You just gotta work through it all. You're not going to agree on everything.

Man: *turns to Philip* All you gotta do is say "yes."

Hubs: *chuckles and nods*

Me and the Lady: *giggles*

Such great advice from her. They were so sweet. She even wished us a Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas and said she was sure they would see us around sometime. And I truly hope we do.

Did you have any great conversations over Thanksgiving?

Conversations With...

... My Hubs

Ok. So I decided that I'm putting up my Christmas decorations a little early this year (aka: today! #dontjudgeme) and I dug the boxes and totes out last night. Hubs decided he wanted nothing to do with the putting away of fall decor and the searching through of Christmas decor to see what I've got to work with, so he went to soak in the bath. I crank up my Holiday tunes and put away the pumpkins and leaf garland. Once that was done, I opened up the totes and boxes that I haven't been able to sort through in about two years. I had forgotten about some of the neat things I have! And as I discovered more little treasures, I grew more and more excited.

This is what my kitchen looked like last night...

Me: *scampers into the bathroom and thrusts an item at Hubs* LOOK!! It's my kitchen Santa!! He's gonna look sooooo good in there!

Hubs: *trying to relax in his bath* That's awesome, babe.

Me: *bobs the Santa at him* Ho Ho Ho! *giggles and scurries back to the kitchen*

a few mins later...

Me: *scampers back into the bathroom* I even have cute little things for the bathroom too!!

Hubs: Really? Where are you even gonna put them? *looks around*

Me: *looks around* I don't know, but I WILL find a place! *scurries back out*

another few mins later...

Me: *scampers into the bathroom* OH YEAH!

Hubs: What are those??

Me: Snowflake lights for outside!! Our porch is gonna look so good this year. I've got so many lights and more garland and, and, and, it's just gonna be awesome. *scurries back out*

I love how he humors me. I get so excited about little things like this and he just smiles and nods and encourages me because it makes me happy. I can't freaking wait to have it all done. I'll definitely post pics once I'm finished.

Have you started putting up Holiday decor? If not, when do you plan to?

Conversations with...

... My Hubs

While I like to think I'm pretty decent at cooking, I don't particularly like it. I do like cooking for people, especially my husband. And my favorite is when he helps me cook. We end up having some pretty hilarious conversations during prep and of course while we eat. Take this conversations for example:

Hubs: Hey, smell my hands. *He shoves them in my face*

Me: Oh. *scrunches nose* Garlic.

Hubs: What? You don't like the smell of garlic?

Me: I like the smell of garlic, just not all up in my face.

Hubs: You must be a vampire then.

Me: I thought you were the vampire.

Hubs: I'm only a vampire from the waist down.

Me: *laughing* From the waist down??

Hubs: Yeah. I got fangs in my pants! *gestures to his crotch*

Me: *dies of laughter*

I'm not entirely sure what he means by "fangs in his pants" and I'm pretty sure I don't want to know.

What conversations have you had lately?

#MyConversations

Today I'm going back in time to share a conversation I had with my mom.

Let's set the stage. I had just purchased a new (to me) car and was in the process of getting my tag. I had already gotten one extension on my temporary tag while waiting on the dealership to tell me it was ok to go pick up my tag, and I only had 5 days until it expired when I finally got the go ahead. On top of the deadline, I had just moved... ugh! After trying twice and not having enough proof of address and being in the wrong county, I made a third attempt only to find out the office was closed that day. I was extraordinarily frustrated. so I called my mother to tell her the story through angry tears. She listened patiently, then this happened:

Mom: Calm down, Amanda. You're driving.

Me: I'm fine! I just... ugh!

Mom: Well, all you have to do is go get proof of address from the bank, maybe print a couple from you're online bills just in case. Oh, and double check the days the offices are open.

Me: I know what I need to do, Mom!

Mom: I was just trying to help!

Me: I know. But sometimes when I call you like this I just need you to be mad with me.

Mom: (in her sarcastic angry voice) Dammit! I am SO MAD!

Me: (laughing hysterically) That's better.

Mom: (laughing with me) Feel better?

Me: Yes. Thanks Mommy.

Mom: That's what I'm here for. Lubs you.

Me: Lubs you too.

Love the Here and Now

And since today is Wednesday and we share our wishes on Wednesdays, here's mine. I wish that everyone has someone they can call or talk to when they are frustrated, angry, sad, or happy that will share their emotions and support their decisions.

What are you wishing for?

An Interview Conversation: Blogger Men Tell All

Today is the second Conversations link-up day! I am so excited to read your conversations and was so pleased at the feedback from those who did link-up (thank you so much!!) and commented last time. As promised, Emily from Ember Grey. is co-hosting this week, so be sure to go check her out and follow her on all the links!

Becoming Adorrable

This time is gonna be a little bit different. Becca from Becoming Adorrable announced last week that she is hosting a link-up today as well, and it just happens that her link-up sorta fits in with mine! Blogger Men Tell All, it's an interview style conversation you have with the man in your life. Hubs and I did something similar a while back (here) and it was super fun, so I didn't see why this one wouldn't be either!

1. If you had a blog, what would you call it, and what would it be about?
Hubs: *rolls eyes and then thinks really hard* Assclowns anonymous.
Me: Really?
Hubs: Are we being serious of funny?
Me: Serious.
Hubs: Ok. Ummmm I would probably write about video games. I'm not very good at naming stuff though. But maybe something like "I Love My Gamer Butt"

2. If you could live inside any video game, which would it be?
Hubs: I have two choices. Do I have to pick one?
Me: What are your two choice?
Hubs: Mass Effect or Dragon Age.
Me: Well which one do you like better?
Hubs: Well I like them the same, but I would chose them for totally different reasons. Mass Effect for all the technology and Dragon Age cause I would get to be a knight.
Me: With shining armor?
Hubs: *nods* Uh huh. Even though I'm already your knight in shinning armor.

3. Who is your best player on your fantasy football team this season?
Hubs: Well, I'm not doing fantasy football this season.
Me: But if you were, who would you pick?
Hubs: Peyton Manning. Even though he's not doing well right now.

4. If you could play for any professional sports team, which one would it be?
Hubs: Do you really have to ask that questions? I think you know the answer.
Me: *typing*
Hubs: *scarcastically* The London Sillynannies. *laughs*
Me: *laughs* No but for real. The Broncos?
Hubs: Yes ma'am.

5. What do you typically do with an hour of free time?
Hubs: Play video games.
Me: Is that it?
Hubs: For the most part. I don't really have that much free time. It's either that or take naps.

That's my husband.

Conversations with...

Can't be serious all the time!

Today is the first day of my new link-up! And I am so excited to share these little insights with you and to read the one's from your lives. Without further adieux, here is this little gem of a conversation I had with Hubs in the car on the drive home from Georgia last Monday:

Me: Guest what?

Him: Who?

Me: It's not that kind of what.

Him: Oh. What?

Me: I Love you.

Him: I Love you even more.

Me: Nuh uh! (pause) OK, well maybe.

Him: (chuckles) Oh! Now you're going to admit it?

Me: You know I Love you just as much as you Love me. (pause) Even though you're a butt head.

Him: I know, but you're a butt head too.

Me: I know. Us butt heads gotta stick together!

Him: I guess. (pause) Two butt heads don't make a wrong (looks at me with a huge grin).

Yes, we are that couple. #noshame

Since today is a Monday, Emily will not be co-hosting, but be sure to go over to Ember Grey. and read all the amazing Grateful Heart posts! In her absence (she will be co-hosting later, I promise!), I have asked one of my current sponsors to help me out. I am very grateful (it is Grateful Heart Monday after all) that I have the opportunity to try these new ideas, to share my life (and Love) with you, and to be able to have these silly conversations with my husband.

Conversations: A New Link-up

Ever since we got home on Monday evening, I've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. There is stuff everywhere in my house right now, and its kind of stressing me out. On top of that I had a History test yesterday, I have a paper to write, and my Psychology midterm is Monday. *deep breath*

But that's not why I finally showed my face here today. On the drive home from Georgia (it's 13 hours!) Hubs and I had a lot of time to chat about random things. Some of them were hilarious, and others were insightful. I wrote a couple down, because I thought I may share them here eventually. Then I remembered that Emily over at Ember Grey. does the same thing from time to time, and I got a fabulous idea. Immediately I emailed Emily to get her thoughts on my idea and she loved it and even offered to co-host the first one with me!

Then I really got to brainstorming, and here are the details!

What: Share a funny, interesting, insightful, or random conversation that you had with someone in your life or even someone you met in the check out line at Target. They can be current or something you remember from the past. You can include pictures, videos, songs, etc. to help tell the story.

When: The link-up will be live on the 15th and 30th (or 28th for Feb) of each month. So the first one is on Monday, September 15, 2014. That's just 4 days away, so get your noodle going to remember an awesome conversation you just had, or write down the ones you have in the next few days.

How: Post your story and conversation on your blog. Please include the button or a link back to Knock on Wood in your post, and don't forget to add your post's link to the linky tool at the bottom of my Conversations post that day. And don't forget to follow my co-host!

Social Media: If you tweet, Instagram, or Facebook your post, use the the hashtag #MyConversations in your post, so we can all follow along!

Knock on Wood

I am so excited to start this link-up and to read all of the wonderful conversation you have with your loved ones (and strangers!). I will be offering the option to co-host the link-up as a part of one of my sponsor options, so if you are interested go and check that out!
