Hubs Joins Me in the 30 Club

Today is the best day. You wanna know why?
My wonderful husband was born 30 years ago today.

Hubs' birthday is better than our first date. Better than when I moved to Missouri. Better than our first cruise. Better than when we decided to expand our family with a tiny human. Better than when he proposed. And, yes, better than our wedding. I know you're thinking "What?!?! No way!" But, for me, it's true. None of those amazing things would have happened without today. So today is my favorite day.

Happy Birthday, Turtle.

Surprise Gift for Hubs

Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by JORD Wood Watches. I was compensated with a free watch for this unbiased presentation and review of the watch. All opinions are 100% my own.

I'm amazing at putting together cool and creative gifts for people as a surprise, but I am terrible at keeping them a surprise. I just get so darn excited about them that I can't keep the secret. This time, though, I did it! I planned a surprise for Hubs and I KEPT it a surprise. Go me!

Earlier in the spring we purchased a new grill. Well, I made Hubs splurge on himself by purchasing our snazzy new grill. He's not one to buy himself nice things. We went on a grilling spree! Burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and steak. YUM. Then the weather got weird and it rained a lot, nipping our grilling spree in the bud. But it's summer now, and while it's crazy hot outside, it's the best time of year for grilling. (how many times can a person type grill/grilling in one post? Let's keep count! There are 5 so far.)

Why did I want to give this surprise gift to Hubs? Well, he's be amazing during this stressful baby journey on top of our bathroom renovation. My emotions and hormones have been living up to the roller coaster cliche and I can be a bit demanding when it comes to how I want our bathroom done. We may have had a couple of little tiffs, but considering everything that's been going on for us, it could have been a lot worse. We've recently hit the one year mark on our baby journey, and thought I'd do something special for him to thank him for how great he's been in putting up with me.

So when JORD reached out to me to see if we could work together, I jumped at the opportunity. You see, Hubs has started a small collection of different and unique styles of watches for men (he loves watches), and this Delmar Red Sandalwood and White Carbon watch made a lovely addition to it. When I received the watch, (after oohing and ahing) I started planning. I went out and got the ingredients for a little cook out and pulled out his shiny new grilling tools I got him for our Anniversary in April. I made sure his favorite shirt was clean and double checked that we had a bottle of his favorite whiskey on hand.

When Hubs came home I sent him straight to the bathroom to shower and laid out his clothes. He was puzzled as why I wanted him to put on "real" clothes and not "hang around the house" clothes, but I told him to just do what I say and he'll understand. Luckily he does mind me pretty well (...most of the time). Once he was dressed, I presented him with the watch. He loves it! Then I told him what I got for us for dinner and to go fire up the grill.

He's not big on having his photo taken, but he was good and played model for me. I think he did fantastic! He wears this beautiful watch like a pro. What do you think?

We had a wonderful evening. He was excited about showing off his new watch to his parents over the weekend when he got to grill again for our 4th of July cook out. And he's looking forward to wearing it again for our next holiday gathering. I think I did well with this surprise gift.

You can give someone the gift of a JORD watch or just get one of these beauties for yourself! Just click HERE and enter your info to win a $75 e-voucher from JORD. Giveaway ends July 24th. You'll get a small prize even if you don't win, so what's to lose?

When was the last time you gave a surprise gift to someone? Are you good at keeping surprises a surprise? Did you keep count of the number of times I said grill/grilling?

Blogger Men Tell All - June

What is your favorite summer treat?
Hubs: I dunno. Probably smoothies.
Me: Why smoothies
Hubs: they are healthy and they are good. Lets you get your fruit servings in.
Me:You can also sneak in some veggies too.
Hubs: yep.

If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would you go and why?
Hubs: France.
Me: Why.
Hubs: I've always wanted to go to France, not sure why. I've heard good things about it and that they have good food.
Me: mm hmm
Hubs: Plus there's stuff like the Eiffel Tower.

Do you have a favorite song that says “summer” to you? What is it?
Hubs: What?..... no. Not that I recall.
We: So there's no song that you know that feels like a summer type song.
Hubs: Well you could throw the Hokey Pokey in there. Shake it all about. And whatever the rest of the words are.
Me: *after stiffling my laughter* Seriously, though. The Hokey Pokey?
Hubs: It's the only song I could think of right off.

What summer project are you hoping to accomplish before fall?
Hubs: Are you laughing cause you think I'm going to say the bathroom?
Me: hahahaha, yes!
Hubs: Well, yeah. That would be nice.
Me: We're about half-way there.

Me: Anything else you'd like add?
Hubs: Cleveland sucks!
Me: Huh
Hubs: The NBA finals. I think they're rigged.
Me: How so?
Hubs: It's just weird how all 6 games were blowouts. And game seven just happened to be close and they made about $13 million in revenue off that game. Just seems fishy to me.
Me: Oh.

He never disappoints with these. Ever.

Guys Behind the Blog - May

The end of May brings the beginning of summer. UGH. Can we skip the heat and humidity, and go right into the cool crisp days of fall? Anyway, the questions for Guys Behind the Blog this month are right up the summer time alley (I totally made that up... don't laugh). Plus, I can never pass up a good interview with Hubs. His answers are always pretty entertaining, and even though he won't admit it, he likes getting some attention here on the blog.

1. Would you rather have to wear your swimsuit to work OR have to carry around a large beach umbrella open all day at work?
Hubs: Prolly swim trunks. Cause I could get away with that. I don't think I could get an umbrella.
Me: Do what?
Hubs: Although. I could have used that umbrella today as a cane.
Me: Why?
Hubs: My ankle hurts.
Me: *typing away*
Hubs: *looks over* oh. I didn't even know we were doing a questionnaire. Is this the Blogger Men Tell All one?
Me: No. This is a different one, but it's similar.

2. Would you rather play on an MLB team OR get to tour with your favorite band all summer?
Hubs: An MLB team.
Me: Why?
Hubs: I don't know. I like baseball and you get to hit little white balls. It's exhilarating.
Me: What team would you play for?
Hubs: you aren't going to like the answer, but it would be the New York Yankees. Actually a lot of people won't like that answer. But yeah. Either them or the St. Louis Cardinals.
Me: Booooooooo. (GO BRAVES!)

3. Would you rather go to the beach and forget your towel OR go to the beach and forget your sunscreen?
Hubs: Do you really need me to answer that questions?
Me: No. It's sunscreen. (he always complains when I make him put sunscreen on)
Hubs: That's right. I don't need no sunscreen cause I'm a balla!
Me: *laughing* Just don't complain when you get sunburnt.

4. Would you rather take a week-long vacation to anywhere in the world OR take a month-long vacation but have to stay within 100 miles of home?

Hubs: Probably the week to anywhere.
Me: Why?
Hubs: There's not much within a 100 miles from here, and that's depressing.
Me: True. Where would you wanna go?
Hubs: *Strokes his beard* hmmmm... Either Italy or France.
Me: Good choices.

5. Would you rather get to have as much ice cream as you want this summer, but only be able to get vanilla OR only get to have ice cream three times this summer, but you can have whatever flavors you want?
Me: Oh gosh, that's a hard one. I love ice cream, but I don't really like vanilla.
Hubs: Well, with vanilla ice cream you can put toppings on it to make it not so bland. The question didn't have any rules about that!
Me: Oohhh good idea.
Hubs: That's the only kind of ideas I have.
Me: What you're favorite topping then?
Hubs: Crushed butterfingers. Does that count as a topping?
Me: Um, Yes!

After the interview...
Hubs: So is there like a template for these or something?
Me: Sorta. The hosts gives the questions and then we just put in the answers. But I'm one of the only ones who does it conversation style like this.
Hubs: Oh. What do other people do?
Me: Usually one or two line answers from what I've seen.
Hubs: Well that's boring.
Me: It would be boring for you. But I like the conversation style because I can prompt you to say funny things sometimes.
Hubs: Oh, YOU prompt me, huh?
Me: mmm hmmm.
Hubs: I think not. I'm pretty darn funny without prompting. (he really is.)

Blogger Men Tell All - March

Conversations with Philip are one of the most viewed topics here. And this one will not disappoint. I sat down with him earlier this month for another round of Blogger Men Tell All,with Becca Dorr, and this is what transpired.

Popcorn lover’s day is March 10! What’s your favorite popcorn flavor?
Hubs: Cheese.
Me: What kind of cheese?
Hubs: What do you mean what kind of cheese? Like cheddar cheese! You know the big cans of the caramel, the butter, and the cheese popcorn. Those ones. mmmmmm
Me: There's white cheddar popcorn too, though.
Hubs: Meh, it's alright.

What is the farthest you’ve traveled?
Hubs: Like how many miles? or... what do you mean by how far you've traveled?
Me: Like the farthest away.
Hubs: Probably on or cruise when we went to Mexico and the Caribbean. Or even the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.
Me: I'm pretty sure Mexico is farthest away.

Have you ever dyed your hair? If not, what color would you dye it?
Hubs: Yes, I died it blond. It turned into piss blond and it looked disgusting on me.
Me: *laughing* So were one of those guys in middle school?
Hubs: Ugh. yes.

How are you doing on your New Year’s resolutions?
Hubs: I don't remember making any. So probably not good.
Me: *laughing* We didn't make any.
Hubs: I didn't think so.

That's my husband ladies (and gentlemen).

Did you participate this round?

19. How are you and your wife different?

You are more social than I am.

20. How do you know your wife loves you?

Him: Because she tells me.
Me: Like other than me telling you.
Him: She does things she doesn't necessarily like or want to do to make me happy. Like cook.
(hahaha. I don't LIKE to cook and I tell him all the time that I only cook cause he likes me to)

21. What does your wife like most about you?

7 Things I Do That My Husband Thinks Are Weird

Ah Husbands (or boyfriends, fiancees, dads... really just men in general). The heroes of our worlds. They can do so many great things: bring home the bacon, carry ALL the grocery bags inside in one trip, mow the lawn, and do math in their heads at lightening speeds. But there are some things they really don't get, amiright? I don't know about you but my husband things some of the things I've done for nearly all my life are just down right weird, and I'm going to list them out for you today.

1. The Accent Nail
You know, the pretty pattern or glitter right finger nail. Hubs always turns his nose up when I do them and calls me a weirdo. He just doesn't understand why I can't do all my nails the same way all the time.

2. Why I Need Four Different Shades of Purple Nail Polish
Purple is purple right? WRONG! Hubs just doesn't get that darker purples are for fall and winter and lighter/brighter ones are for spring and summer.

3. Wearing a Hair Tie on Your Wrist ALL The Time
Seriously? I thought he was joking when he asked me about it one day. Nope, he doesn't get why I have to have one on me every second of the day. Men just do not understand the spontaneous need to pull your hair back in the middle of the day.

4. Eating Cereal Out of a Cup
Ok. This may just be me, but I have been doing this since I was in middle school. My mom had just bought new dishes and the bowls that came with the set were so tiny that I always had to get a second bowl of cereal in the morning. One day I just grabbed a big plastic cup and having been eating my cereal that way every since.

5. Starbucks
Nope, my hubs doesn't get why I love the coffee chain so much. Honestly, it's really a treat for me during school, because caffeine is so needed to stay focused in class. Plus, it's just really really good.

6. Use Body Wash Over Bar Soap
In his brain, bar soap is cheaper and it lasts loner. He has a point, but in my brain I don't get the exfoliation and moisture I need from a bar soap that I do from my body wash and loofa. I take pride on my skin and want to keep it looking young as long as I can.

7. Snapchat
I know he's not the only one in this boat. I didn't really get it at first either, but once I just buckled down and learned how it works I was hooked. Then I started adding bloggy friends and it got even better! If you want to give it another try, Melissa did a great tutorial!

What are some things the man/men in your life just don't get about you?

Let's Play Catch Up

Whew! It's been a while, and I'm sorry not sorry about it. Sometimes life just has to come first and I have come to terms with this, and no longer feel guilty about having to step away from the blog for a bit.

Anywho. A lot has been going on lately, so lets catch up with a Currently post.

Loving:
My husband. In the past month he has shown me so much love. Starting with letting me keep my little man Robbie, then conceding to my iPhone upgrade, buying us the brand-new-king-sized-sent-from-heaven-matress-of-perfection (which is being delivered on Saturday!), and booked our cruise for December. Amazing isn't he?

Reading: Nothing. I need to catch up on my blog reading, and now that things are starting to seem like they are calming down and getting back into routine I just might be able to start.

Feeling: Exhausted, but refreshed at the same time. My body is so tired every day from work, but opening this sparkly new post to type up is making me feel so much better.

Watching: Game of Thrones!  Things are finally starting to get good.

Writing: Again, nothing. Besides this post, the only thing I've written is nurse's notes and they aren't very exciting. BUT I have several good ideas for posts that I'm going to start writing soon.

Listening: Worth It by Fifth Harmony. I just can't get enough of this song lately.

Wanting: For Bear to be done with the spring shedding. Right now there are tufts of fur all over my house. It looks like I haven't vacuumed in weeks. In reality, I vacuumed day before yesterday. The struggle is real. And all of that is AFTER brushing him outside and getting over half a trash bag of fur off him each time.

Needing: To reverse all of the ceiling fans in our house to the summer settings. Heat and stagnant air are not my thing.

Hoping: Things get sorted out at work without too many crazy changes.

Avoiding: Laundry, like always.

Wishing: It was December already! I can't wait for our cruise! We're leaving right after Christmas and going to Florida, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, the Grand Cayman Islands, and back to Florida. Neither one of us has ever been on a cruise before and this will be our first real vacation together, as well as a super late honeymoon.

Trying: To increase my step count each day. This is so much harder than I realized it would be. #lazy

Hating: How much down time I don't have anymore. It really sucks, and even more so since we don't have internet at work anymore.

Missing: My Tribe.

Praying: For a smooth summer. It's not my favorite season.

Thinking: About so many things that I couldn't even fit it all into one post.

So that my life lately. What have you been up to?

May 18, 2015

Armadillo Season

Over the weekend, Hubs and I traveled the 30 minutes to get Chipotle and do a little shopping. While we were driving home I counted 14 Armadillo bodies on the side of the highway. I turned to Hubs and said that it must be Armadillo season. That started me thinking about seasons and time, and ultimately the verse you see above from Ecclesiastes came to mind.

The past few weeks have been a bit stressful for me; papers, finals, ongoing craziness at work, and some tough personal decisions that need to be made. I neglected several things, including this blog, and on the one hand I am sorry, but on the other hand, I'm not. I needed to step away bit to keep myself sane and my husband from thinking I'm a hermit. Right now it seems like this phase will never end, like I will never feel at peace with my life again. That's when I go back to Ecclesiastes chapter 3 and I am reminded and reassured that this season of my life will come to an end and a new one will begin.

I've got two weeks until the summer session starts, and I've decided to only take one course. Giving myself a bit of a brain break, especially since the course I chose will be a pretty easy one. Another great thing about this course is that it gives me the right credits to get my Associates Degree. Woot!

Today I am grateful for the reassurance from God that things will get better. I'm grateful to have a supportive husband who's got my back. I'm grateful life gives me options to choose from.

What are you grateful for?

Being Grateful

Good Morning Monday. It's the start of another week and while it's not everyone's favorite day, we should still be grateful for it.

If you are following me in Instagram, you'll know that I am currently dog sitting this adorable Dachshund named Robbie while my boss, Nadine, is on vacation. I had met him a couple times before when she's brought some of her dogs up to visit with the residents. He's a sweet little thing, full of energy and love. We've loved having him in our little family the past few days, and we've still got a week to go!

Nope, he doesn't like me. Not one little bit.

Come to find out, Nadine is trying to re-home some of her animals, and I don't blame her. Currently, she's got 11 cats and 5 dogs (including Robbie), and I'm pretty sure there are some birds, fish, and rabbits too. A zoo! Well, Robbie is one of the dogs she's looking for a new home for, and you know what? Hubs agree last night that his new home will be with us.

You can imagine my excitement to have a new baby in our house. Hubs really does spoil me, but I'm not complaining. I appreciate and am so grateful for all he does for me and our family. I'm grateful that we can give this sweet little man a good home, and that Nadine's daughters can come a visit Robbie whenever they want. I'm grateful that I can help out a friend.

What are you grateful for?

Grateful Heart

Despite the business of everyday life, God is still up there looking after you.

Sometimes I forget that in all the business of everyday life, God is there looking out for me. The past couple weeks have really proved that. So many wonderful things have happened, some as a response to something negative.

Lets start at the beginning, with the interesting conversation I had with my mom two weeks ago. Something she said really upset me. While she said she didn't have any underlying motives, it still felt like she did. When I recounted that conversation to Hubs, he felt the same way I did about what she said. I tried to let it go, but the seed Mom planted in our heads kept growing and eventually sprouted into a pretty intense argument between Hubs and I. We got a lot of things out on the table, and you know what? It has made our relationship stronger.

I did ask my mom to explain exactly what she was trying to say, and it still came across a little offensive, but knowing her intent and her feelings behind it helped a lot. She apologized and everything is a-ok now. And funny enough, a job kinda fell into my lap as a result as well.

During all of this several great opportunities were offered to me in regards to this little space of mine. I am overjoyed to see it growing and excited to share my new adventures with you over the next few months. So be on the lookout for that!

I'm also excited to announce the latest blog design I just installed for Meghan. She was a doll to work with and I had some much fun bringing her vision to life.

If you don't know, the Blogger Pow Wow was last night and this month's topic was SEO. Christine offered up some great advice, and much to my surprise I was able to help her out with some insight for the Blogger users in our group (Christine is a WordPress blogger). Who knew I was an "expert"? That means you guys will be seeing an "SEO for Blogger blog" post from me in the next week or so. Thank Christine for that.

And finally, my new MacBook Pro is fixed and back in my possession. I am so glad that it was able to be repaired! Poor Mable (my old '07 MacBook White) just can't keep up with all the software updates anymore, and is going to be happily retired once I get all my files transferred over. I'm trying to think of a name for the new MacBook. Suggestions?

Grateful is only one of the emotions flooding me right now, but it's definitely a big one. God really does give us exactly what we need.

What are you grateful for today?

Conversations with...

... a sleeping hubs

So the other night I was laying in bed next to a passed out Hubs checking social media and playing Trivia Crack when I noticed that Hubs had turned on his stomach and was laying facedown in his pillow. I tried to wake him so he'd turn over, and this is what happened.

Hubs: *mumbles into the pillow*

Me: What?

Hubs: *more mumbles*

Me: Carson has Oreos?

Hubs: *turns over* No. I fixed the weld. It was on step 2.

*It was then I realized that he is still very much asleep because he doesn't talk details like this when he's awake, so I just play along*

Me: You fixed it?

Hubs: mmmmmm

Me: That's good.

*a few moments later*

Me: Did anyone have Oreos?

Hubs: *grumbling* No.

Me: Ok. Just making sure.

Clearly I was focused on those Oreos. I'm feeling the need to go pick some up later for dinner.

Now I want to introduce you to my loverly co-host Melissa! She's my Bestie in real life and thanks to tons of peer pressure, she started blogging. I am so glad she did, because now we get to share this amazing hobby and lifestyle together. It's just one more way for us to stay close.

Bear The Amazing Escape Artist + #BloggerMenTellAll

Let's get real today. Monday night I experienced what I think it might be like when parents lose track of their child in a store for a few minutes.

It started out like every Monday evening. We were about to get ready to go to bed, so I put Bear outside to potty while I took a bath. About half and hour later, all fresh and clean, I step outside to bring Bear back inside. I didn't see him and he didn't come running to me. OK, sometimes he's a lazy bum and stays lounging behind the shed. I walk out there and I still don't see him. Panic starts to set in. I pull his tie out line towards me and his collar is still attached to the end, but it's been unbuckled!

I sprinted inside and woke Hubs up. I was literally on the verge of tears, but my anxiety and worry took over. How long has he been gone? How did his collar get unbuckled? Which way did he wander off to? Has he been hit by a car? Did someone steal him?

Without complaint my amazing husband got out of bed and we went out to look for him. I drove around for ten minutes, probably pissing people off with my slow speed. It felt like HOURS! No luck. I don't know why, but I decided to drive back around our block, which is the usual route we take for walks, and I finally spotted Bear. Relief. My baby is ok. I called Hubs and he made his way over to where we were. With the help of some neighbors, we corralled Bear and got his collar back on him and into my car.

It's no secret that Hubs still has reservations about Bear, and his frustration was evident that night. He made a comment that upset me as we got back into bed. "If this happens again, we are getting rid of him." Heartbreak. A few minutes later I asked if he was serious about that comment, and he said yes. However, the next morning, after being able to calm back down, and put things inter perspective I received this text message. "Hey love, sorry about last night. Just to let you know, I'll never get rid of Bear 'cause I know how much he means to you."

This is how I know he loves me. This is why I love my Hubs more and more every single day. So I'm going to let you get to know him just a little bit better with these great questions from Becca at Becoming Adorrable for Blogger Men Tell All.

1. What is your favorite winter hobby?

Hubs: Staying warm.
Me: If I were to answer this for you, I would say Sleeping and Video Games.
Hubs: Sleeping isn't really a hobby. I cuddle a lot too.
Me: True.

2. Did you do anything special for your blogger on February 14th?

Hubs: Would that be you?
Me: Yeeessss.
Hubs: Yes. I surprised you with TWO boxes of candy and I cooked dinner for you.
Me: Yes you did. It was good steak too.

3. What’s your favorite kind of candy?

Hubs: Butterfingers and Reece's Pieces. Oh and Twix.
Me: Anything peanut butter.
Hubs: Twix isn't' peanut butter.
Me: I know, but the other two are.
Hubs: Butterfinger is peanut butter?
Me: It's supposed to sorta be like peanut butter.
Hubs: Oh.

*We had to pause here a moment because Bear and Pumpkin were demanding attention*

4. Which Rom-Com would you choose to watch while you snuggle up with your Valentine?

Hubs: Romantic Comedy?
Me: Yep.
Hubs: *Gets up to look at our DVD collection and wiggles his butt at me*
Me: *giggles*
Hubs: The Princess Bride.
Me: Why?
Hubs: It's got everything a chick wants and a guy wants all in one.
Me: Did you just call me a chick.
Hubs: I was just referring to women in general.

5. Who, in your opinion, is the best US president ever?

Hubs: I plead the 5th on this one.
Me: why?
Hubs: It's one thing you don't discuss, religion and politics.
Me: Alrighty then.

Me: Do you have anything else you want to add?
Hubs: That I love my beautiful bloggy, blogger, whatever. Oh you're the bloggER and I'm the blogg-EE.
Me: *Dying*

The Joy of a Snowy Morning

I woke up this morning to a wet nose on my shoulder. I have no need for an alarm clock, because Bear has his own schedule and he makes sure I stick to it. I put on my robe and walked with him to the back door and you know what we saw? SNOW! So I hurried back to the bedroom to bundle up, grabbed my wellies, and we headed outside.

Great Pyrenees are made for cold weather and mountains. While we don't live in a very mountainous region, we do have plenty of cold weather for Bear to frolic in. It's only snowed one other time since we've had him and it was barely a dusting that time. Today we had a few inches to play with.

Seeing him running around, biting the snow, and just genuinely have the best time ever completely made my day. You can see the joy he had, I could feel it! What a wonderful and amazing blessing it is to wake up to this scene, to have this moment with Bear, to witness his elation over something so simple. I am truly grateful to my husband for giving in to my pleading to adopt Bear, for putting up with all the little issues of adjustments, for trying to love Bear as much as I do (Hubs is not really a dog person). It makes me love Hubs even more to know that he loves me so much that he will do nearly anything to make me happy. And happy, I am.

What are you grateful for today?
Do your dogs love the snow as much as mine?
How has your spouse shown thier love for you?

Conversation with...

Hubs

Most of the best conversations Hubs and I have are when we are laying in bed before we fall asleep. And here's another prime example!

Hubs: Where's Misty?

Me: I don't know. Probably laying on the heating pad on the couch.

Hubs: *calling to Misty* Misty!?!!

Me: Pumpkin and Bear are in here. Oh. I bed she won't come because Bear is laying in the doorway.

Hubs: Why does he do that?

Me: It's his guarding instincts.

*after a few mins Bear moves back to his bed*

Hubs: *calling to Misty* You're free now!!!

Me: *giggling* She's such a turd.

Hubs: mm hmm

Me: They are all turds. I'm surrounded by turds!!!

Hubs: And you're the biggest one of all.

If you don't think he didn't get smacked for that, you're wrong.

Do you have a sharable conversation? Link-up with me and my lovely co-host this week, Faith! It's open all week!

Being Grateful for the Awesome Things About Hubs

Being married is truly amazing, but it's not always sunshine and rainbows. It's hard work. So in order to stay positive during the tough times, we try to focus on the good things about each other, and make sure the other knows how much we appreciate what the other does for our family. So here are some Awesome things about my Hubs (that I can share in a public forum anyway).

1. He supports our family financially.
I'm in school full time, I have this blog, and my blog design business. Believe it or not this takes up a lot of time and energy. And my wonderful Hubs works 10-12 hours a day 6-7 days a week to provide for us and keep us comfortable. He has never pressured me to get a job of any kind, even though I have offered and looked and applied for jobs.

2. He supports me emotionally.
I have big dreams, and he is right there beside me cheering me on and lifting me up, and holding me accountable. And boy do I love this about him. I don't think I would be as successful as I have been without him there beside me.

3. He tries.
We, like every couple, have our own issues and spats. But we compromise and agree to terms. Hubs tries so hard to hold up his end of the bargain. And I will admit that he does a much better job at it than I do, without holding it against me.

4. I always have a snuggle buddy.
Be jealous. My husband loves to cuddle and snuggle with me, and during these colder months it's awesome! We don't have to keep our thermostat turned up very high because of this. Not to mention the intimacy benefits of cuddling, if you know what I mean.

5. I'm spoiled.
Yep. I get everything I need, and just about everything I want within reason. I mean, hello shed! I did a whole post on this... Here

6. He keeps me laughing.
Seriously. I am always laughing at some crazy thing he's saying or face he's making. I mean you've all gotten a small taste of it through the Conversations link-up

7. He's always on my side.
If I'm mad, he's mad with me. If I'm upset, he helps me through it. If I'm happy, he's happy. He stand up for me when necessary. It's nice to know I always have a partner to lean on, to vent to, to get advice from. I do my best to do the same for him. We stick together, and I think this is a very important aspect in our marriage.

8. He helps around the house.
I hate putting the laundry away. He does it for me. I hate putting the dishes away. He does it. He takes out the trash, cleans out the liter box, and takes care of all the car stuff. It's so so nice to have someone help with chores without complaint.

9. Surprises.
Hubs brings me little gifts all the time. Be it my favorite candy from the store or a little something from my Amazon wish list. Sometimes it's just a sweet text in the mornings. These little things are amazing and it shows that I am on his mind all the time.

10. He's just a good man.
He's is absolutely the best man that has ever been in my life outside of my family, and really even compared to some of the men in my family. I just cannot put to words how grateful I am and how blessed I am to have my husband. I honestly do not know what I would do without him now.

What's awesome in your life right now? What are you grateful for?
