Things are going to be a bit quieter around here starting this week. I tried really hard to keep up with my posting schedule (1 post a day M-F) after I started my classes, but it's becoming harder and harder to keep up with everything and something has to give. I'm slacking in some pretty important areas right now and in order to catch up and make things right, some adjustments must be made. I love blogging and I adore you (and your blogs), my lovely readers, but I won't be posting as frequently as I have been.

I am so grateful to have this outlet: a place to share my thoughts, projects, and tidbits of my life. And since I'm already linking up with Emily at Ember Grey. for Grateful Heart Monday, I'm going to take it a step farther and steal her blog post idea  share a silly conversation I had with my husband Saturday.

Me: I should be studying. (Instead I am playing 4pics1word and online scrabble)
Hubs: Yeah, you should.
Me: I don't want to.
Hubs: *gives me a half serious look* Am I gonna have to bring out my big boy voice?
Me: *gives him a skeptical look* What are you gonna do?
Hubs: I have the power!! *raises fist in air*
Me: The power of what?
Hubs: I don't know. I didn't think that far ahead.

I did end up studying for a couple hours that evening. Hubs has been such a great study buddy though. I think he's even learned a few things from going through my seemingly endless stacks of flash cards with random historical facts or psychology terms written on them. So, I also have that to be grateful for.

What are you grateful for?

My Cup Runneth Over

Ember Grey. Grateful Heart Monday

This past weekend is the first weekend since Easter that I got to spend two solid days with my husband. He works so hard to provide us with the best life possible and I am so very grateful that he is able to do so. But I am also grateful for his much deserved (and needed) weekend off. Friday I was busy setting up the little pool we purchased Thursday evening. It was harder than I expected it to be, and I discovered that our back yard isn't as flat as I imagined it was. After three attempts and a few hours of frustrated sighs at the instructions and yelling at the ground for being uneven, I finally found the perfect spot. I wanted it to be all set up and ready, so when Hubs got home he could just relax and enjoy our new summer toy.

We spent much of Saturday lounging in our giant blue blow-up bathtub pool in the middle of our back yard sipping vodka cranberries out of plastic tumblers with straws. I got a little color and he got a little crispy (oops). Saturday also happened to be exactly two months since we got married. Steak and mashed potatoes were in order to celebrate.

Sunday I got right up to try and knock some studying out before we made the trip up to Jefferson City for the afternoon, which gave Hubs some quality time with his PS3, #bromance. We had the mouth-orgasm that is Chipotle for lunch to fuel our afternoon shopping adventures. Random amazingness from Dollar Tree, new sneakers for me, some work clothes for him, and an iPad mini later we were on our way back to the air conditioning at home.

This weekend was pretty awesome. I have so much to be grateful for. My cup runneth over.

What are you grateful for?

That Time I Saved My Phone From Drowning

I started my classes last Monday, so most of my week and weekend looked like this:

Loads of fun... (insert fake-ass smile here).

No, but really, I learned a lot of cool stuff and took more notes in two days than I have in the past nine years. Anywho. Friday evening, I thought I'd reward myself with a glass of wine and a bubble bath. Like the good blogger I am, I had to document this event with a picture. Once I took the picture, I texted it to one of my best bloggy friends, Kathy. In my attempt to return my iPhone to the counter, it slipped out of my hand and dropped right down into my gloriously bubbly bathwater.

Apparently I have the reflexes of a cat and snatched my phone right back out and dried it off. My phone seemed to be ok, but I wasn't going to take any chances. I called to my husband to bring me that random bag of rice from the pantry and a tupperware container.

After a few hours of the rice treatment, I checked my phone's vitals, and it's still seemed to be doing just fine. Still not entirely positive we were out of the clear, I told my phone it had to spend the night in the rice bowl.

To my relief, I woke to find a perfectly working iPhone Saturday morning. No heart attack needed. So very grateful to not have to buy a new phone. And that bubble bath, I still enjoyed it.

How was your weekend?

A Grateful Heart and School Supplies

Hello June! How did you get here so fast?!

If you are reading this between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm Central time, I am sitting in my first classes since 2005 (eep!). Psychology 101 and History 101. I read the first chapter in my Psychology book over the weekend, because I want to at least pretend to be totally prepared. I'm not terribly worried about my history class, but I guess we'll just have to see how things go.

Right now I'm just grateful I am able to go back to school. It's always been a dream of mine to finish my education and I'm glad I changed my mind about my major. At first I was going to get a BA in Business, but after doing some research and was really honest with myself I choose to pursue a BA in Psychology with a minor in English.

With my minor I'm hoping to take some creative writing classes. Then I can put on a better show for you guys here on the blog. But mostly because I've always enjoyed writing and it's been a fantastic creative outlet for me since grade school.

A Grateful Heart: Time

Ember Grey. Grateful Heart Monday

Good Morning! I hope everyone is enjoying this last day of the Memorial Day weekend. Drink lots of water and don't forget to put on sunscreen!!

I'm popping in today to share with you, how grateful I am to be able to spend time with my husband. He generally works twelve hours a day Monday through Saturday, and sometimes a few hours on Sunday. But this weekend, he got half of Saturday, and all of Sunday and today off. Two whole days, in a row, to rest and play.

Grateful Heart Monday

I've been sitting here thinking about what to write this morning, because I couldn't think of anything last night, and I still have no idea what to write about. I haven't been in the best of moods lately because of a disappointing realization that a person I thought was nice and welcoming is not and the budding friendship I thought we had is not real.

Then I remembered that Emily over at Ember Grey. has an awesome link-up called Grateful Heart Monday. I love this idea and I really need a pick-me-up right now to focus on the good things going on right now.

Let's do this in list form, because lists are awesome.
