A Chewy Summer

Anyone who knows me, knows that my animals are very much my kids. I love them so very much and treat them like I would any other member of my family. I want the best for them. This made choice to partner with Chewy a no brainer.

This summer with Chewy has been great! We got to try out a brand of wet dog food that I hadn't heard of before, Merrick. They have a grain free line with added vitamins and nutrients. I'm ALWAYS looking for quality food options that my dogs will actually eat, that are also affordable. This brand fits the bill. Bear and Robbie just gobbled up this food and then turned to look at me expecting more. It comes in cases of 12 for just $31.98 which is cheaper than a case of 12 of any canned food from the local pet store. Definitely a hit in our house.

We also got to try out Blue Bits treats for our dogs AND Kitty Yums treats for our cats. Huge thanks to my rep for sending us both. The treats live up to the much respected Blue Buffalo quality and they are the perfect size for the cats and Robbie, but a little small for Bear. I ended up giving him a tiny pile on the floor so he wouldn't try to swallow my fingers too! I had to hide these treats in the cabinet because the cats would try to get into them. Needless to say they were added to the list of hits from Chewy.

Our other item is a carpet/upholstery cleaner. Rocco & Roxie Supply Co. Professional Strength Stain & Odor Eliminator. LEGIT, this stuff is amazing! I would show you before and after pics (if I had any) but it's kinda gross, so I won't. Just take my word for it. This stuff works. In my opinion it works better than Nature's Miracle. We have hardwood floors, but they don't save our floor rugs from Robbie's accidents, and this cleaner does the job. No smell, No stain, No color fade. AH-MAY-ZING! It's a little pricey at $19.97 a bottle, but totally worth it when you don't have to replace your area rugs every few months.

As always Chewy delivers the perfect products for our babies. This company truly is my favorite to work with, as is always just an email away if I have questions or concerns about the products. If you missed my past review, it is here.

Where do you get your pet supplies? Have you tried Chewy before?

Chewy: Where Pet Lovers Shop

Chewy dog and cat treats

Right now my fur kids are my only kids and even if/when we have a child, they will still be just as important to me as they are now. And if you know me, I will do just about anything for my babies (a.k.a. they are spoiled rotten. Can you smell them?) and I jumped at the opportunity to partner with Chewy especially after I found out they offer organic food and treats. There is even a special tab that will tell you every ingredient in food/treat on the website. Knowing what we feed our pets is a big deal. We eat healthy, why shouldn't they?

When Bear was sick after we got him home from his grand adventure, the Smart Stick treats from the March box (that I didn't blog about, oops) were one of the only things he could keep down. He didn't even want one of his bacon treats, but perked right up when I pulled out the Smart Sticks.

Well April's box could not have come at a better time. Let me tell you. As you can tell from that picture up there, Bear has A LOT of fur. While the warmer weather is good for us, he's not fairing to well. So you can imagine my relief when I got this FURminator Brush in the April Box. Dude. I spent an HOUR one afternoon brushing off nearly half of a garbage bag of fur off him. Half. Of. A. Garbage. Bag. Not only did his coat look so much better, he doesn't seem as bothered by the heat. I will have to keep this up throughout the spring and summer, but it's totally worth it. And that's half a garbage bag of fur I don't have to vacuum up once a week.

With the brush we got these awesome little Primal Chicken Nibs. My favorite thing about these treats is that they are safe to give to both cats and dogs! Ok. Here's a great story for you. I woke up one night to sounds in my kitchen. I got up, knowing it was one of the cats playing with something, and walked in to find Misty IN the treat cabinet, the bag of Chicken Nibs on the floor, and Bear and Pumpkin watching. Misty had already ripped a big hole in the bag, so I had to put them in a tupperware container. A few nights later I hear the same noises in the kitchen, Misty once again trying to get in that cabinet and into the treats. You guys, I had to tape the cabinet shut. That's how much they like these treats.

But I'm pretty sure their favorite part is the box.

Do you have any furkids? How many? Cats? Dogs?
What do you do special for them?

Through The Lens - November Moments

I was tagged on Instagram by Kristen at Treats and Travels to showcase my favorite photos from November for her Through The Lens Link-up. I loved this idea and I finally got around to doing this post today, better late than never right? School has been keeping me so busy lately, that I almost forgot about it. There were so many wonderful photos to choose from, but I narrowed it down to my absolute favs for you. There's a little story behind each one too!

1. I was snapchatting a few friends and took an amazing selfie. I just had to save it. Sometimes you get the best ones when you aren't trying too hard.

2. Being a Psychology major, I have to write paper ALL. THE. TiME. This sometimes takes away attention from my fur kids, and they do not like that at all. These two snuggle bugs figured out how to get some mommy time while I was finishing up a mid-term paper.

3. Early on in the month I found on that I made the Dean's List!! Now I have proof that I'm smart!

4. My new addiction to Peppermint Mochas at home. *insert heart eyes emoji here* I didn't realize that this creamer was so amazing. I'm glad it jumped into my cart that day at the store.

5. Hubs and I have a date night each week, usually the same day we go to the grocery store. Sometimes I make him stop and pose for a picture. Got a good one this time!

6. After adopting Bear, I realized that he is the perfect motivation for me to get up and get moving more. So now we have a sweet little walk schedule that is benefiting us both!

7. I snapped this little gem the day we adopted Bear. We were waiting for the ok to go meet him, when Pumpkin decided she wanted under the blanket with Hubs.

8. This is my favorite picture right now. One morning, we were taking our usual route, and Bear just stopped. Then I turned around and saw this sunrise. He turned a bit and just stood there very still. It was like he was telling me to take this picture.

What were your favorite photos of November?

Weird Things My Cats Do

As we all know, cats are strange and independent creatures. They can become the most loving companions, they can be lazy bums that don't do anything, or they can be ornery assholes that pitch temper tantrums when they don't get their way. My cats are all of these things tightly wound in cute furry bodies.

The ABC's of Me

I've seen a few of these type posts around lately, but I stole this one from Kristi over at Melbourne on my Mind. I discovered Kristi's blog while following links through numerous blogs from 20 Something Bloggers and quickly became a follower.

Anywho, here it goes.

Age: 27

Bed: Queen sized with a memory foam mattress topper that basically hugs you when you lie down and a luscious feather down comforter. We have just enough space to spread out on our own when we aren't curled around each other.

Chore you hate: Putting away the clean laundry or clean dishes. I don't mind doing them because I don't like dirty things, but I have laziness issues when it comes time to put them away.

Dogs: I like dogs and have had a few in my life, but I am really a cat person.

Essential start to your day: Breakfast. It's my favorite meal.

Favorite color: Purple. Nearly any shade, but I tend to lean towards the lighter shades.

Gold or silver: Definitely silver. I've never liked the look of gold on my skin, unless it's white gold.

Height: 5'6"

Instruments you play: Flute, piccolo, Bass Clarinet, and a little bit of Piano. I haven't played in years, and the only one I actually own now is my flute, but it's packed away in storage.

Job title: Unintentional House Girlfriend

Kids: Maybe one day. My mom wants me to have a little girl, and that would be totally fine with me IF I have a child. And IF I have a child it will be an ONLY child. I don't really like kids, especially the ones who's parents think they are angels when in all reality they are annoying little shits who destroy everything in sight. (Don't worry, Philip and I have already talked about this and he's on board with possibly only having one kid.)

Live: A flat wasteland of farms and trees and nothingness called mid-Missouri.

Mom's name: Melanie

Nickname: Manda. Manna. Mander. I hate when people call my Mandy, the only exception being my grandmother because I don't have the heart to tell her I hate it.

Overnight hospital stay: It wasn't for me. I stayed at the hospital with my, then, best friend while she was in labor with her first child. We are no longer friends. Why not? I'm not entirely sure, but I have my theories.

Pet peeve: Wet towels on the floor, bed, or anywhere other than the hook in the bathroom or the dirty laundry basket.

Quote from a book or movie: "You must know... surely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I'd scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on."

Righty/Lefty: Righty

Siblings: I am the oldest of six. Three sisters and three brothers. Granted some are half and step siblings, but siblings nonetheless.

Time you wake up: Usually around 8:30am, but I don't get out of bed until 9am or so. Sometimes 10am if I haven't slept well.

Underwear: Cotton and comfortable.

Veggies you dislike: It would be easier to ask me what veggies I do like. I only eat broccoli, green beans, carrots, celery, salad greens (ie, lettuce and baby spinach), corn, and potatoes. The rest is off the menu.

What makes you late: Changing clothes again and again cause I can't decide what to wear.

X-Rays you've had: Teeth. I had braces for years and once to see where my wisdom teeth were.

Yummy food you make: Um. Just read my posts with the "food" label or check my Food board on Pinterest.

Zoo animal: Technically it's not the zoo, it's the aquarium, but beluga whales. I could sit and watch them swim all day. I took this video at the Georgia Aquarium about 4 years ago of the beluga whales exhibit.

Project Painting: Phase 1, Priming The Kitchen

Kitchen Before
In coming to Missouri, I knew I was walking into a bachelor pad of sorts, but I also knew that I was going to have to deal with lingering bits of Philip's ex-girlfriend.
