Father's Day

I wouldn't be the person I am today without my Daddy. Even though I don't have as many happy memories with my dad as I always wished for, he gave me life and taught me to make the most with what you're given. I Love you Daddy.

I have to say, that I am pretty lucky in the father department. Not only do I have my Daddy, but I have a pretty awesome step-dad too. In the past 10 years Brian and my mom have been married, Brian has been there for me in ways I never expected. I am not his biological daughter; he didn't even meet me officially until after he and my mom were married! He has no obligation to support me and my goals, yet he stepped up to play the father role in my life when my Dad checked out. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Brian's generosity and guidance, and I couldn't ask for a better man for my mom. I Love you, Brian.

Normally, Father's Day is reserved for that special guy you call Dad. But, for a long time, I only had my mom. She played both roles. My brothers and I (especially me during my teenage years) gave her hell, but she never left, she never gave up, and she always made me feel loved. She gave us the best life possible on a single mom salary, and with dads that came and went as they pleased. She was, and still is, our rock. She is home. I Love you, Mommy.

Happy Father's Day!

My First Graduation

I still haven't found another Linky tool that is completely free. The one we were using has changed to subscription only, and this blog isn't bringing in enough moolah to cover the cost at the moment. So if you'd like to link-up, please leave your link in the comments! I'll be checking throughout the day today and tomorrow for links. I love to read your stories!

PIM #TBT Stories

Let's get down to today's prompt!

Graduations: Kindergarten, Middle School, High School, or College. Pick one (or all!).

Super Duper Long Weekend in GA Re-Cap

Now that I'm home and settled, I can do a re-cap of my super long "weekend" in Georgia for Mother's Day. So here we go!

Thursday: Driving to Georgia. I saw the sunrise for the first time since December! The trip down took me about 13.5 hours this time, stopping three twice for gas, once for food, and a couple times to use the restroom.

15 Lessons From My Mommy

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day, I know I did. We are sitting on her couch being lazy this morning, and I realized I didn't have a post ready. Then I thought "My mommy has taught me so many things", so I asked her to share her wisdom with all of you.

Georgia On My Mind

If you haven't guessed yet, or read this post, I'm originally from Georgia. I miss it all the time and have hopes to move back one day. Don't get me wrong, I have a great life here in Missouri with my Love and our fur babies, but Georgia is where my family is, it's where most of my friends live, it's where my heart yearns to be on a regular basis. The first month here was fine, I had a new house to decorate, a new town to explore, and I was finally in the same space as Philip daily instead of a long weekend every few months. After I settled in, it really began to hit me how much I left behind. I took a lot of things for granted and now wish I had made an effort to spend more time with my siblings, my grandparents, and my friends.
