Getting Edumacated

When I wake up in the mornings, I like to lay in bed a few minutes and check my social media accounts before getting up. Then I saw the date on the top of my phone and it hit me. I start my classes on Monday. That's just THREE days away people.

I have mixed emotions. On one hand I'm excited, this is going to be a good opportunity for me to make friends here and, you know, learn stuff. On the other I'm terrified, it's been nine years since I've been in school. Will I be able to slip right back into that learning state of mind? Will I enjoy it like I used to?

I did get some good news, most of my credits transferred. I don't have to take any more science or math! Woot woot! So on to History and the first of many Psychology classes. If I do well this session, I might be able to take on an additional class and hopefully graduate sooner than expected.

I saw a post on Facebook from my baby sister yesterday and I realized that while folks like me are going back to school, most are getting ready for summer break.

She's not the seven year old I left to go to a college across the state. She's driving, she's about to graduate high school, she's getting a summer job. She's growing up and becoming the sweet southern belle she was raised to be. Like me, tee hee. No? ok.

I'm getting my brain ready to start learning classroom style again, but I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  3. Hey - it's been 12 years since I graduated high school! I did 9 years of post high school school... and no more for me! It's exciting, but I am so happy to be done. Thomas is thinking of going back to get his MBA. Good luck!
