Ha Ha Tonka State Park

Ha Ha Tonka Castle Ruins
Last Sunday Philip and I were bored. I started Googling things to do in our area because none of my usual go-to things are available here. I came across a park that a friend of his recommended to us once. Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton, MO. It's about a 45 minute drive from us, but the day was too nice to pass up a chance to get out and Philip had never really been hiking.

When we got there, we stopped and got a map and decided to go see the famous castle ruins first. Philip is terrified of heights, but he was a good sport and posed for a couple pictures. Then we hiked through this giant sink hole they call The Colosseum. It kicked my butt, but I burned a ton of calories! Next time we go we want to explore the caves and maybe hike down to the spring.

I'm so glad we decided to venture out there or else we'd have missed out on such a beautiful park (and a great workout!). Next time you're bored on a weekend, Google your local state park and go check it out!
